Product Description
This is a N20 12V 300RPM Micro Metal Gear Motor With Encoder. It is designed to work at 12 V, but it can also run at voltages between 3 and 12 V. It can start rotating at voltages as low as 0.5 V, but lower voltages may not be effective and higher voltages may reduce the motor’s lifespan. The micro metal gear motors come in different gear ratios, from 5:1 to 1000:1. Except for the 1000:1 ratio, all the motors have the same size and shape. You can easily replace one motor with another if you need a different gear ratio.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can this motor run at voltages other than 12 V?
Yes. While rated for 12 V operation, the motor will function between 3 V and 12 V and can start turning at voltages as low as 0.5 V. Running below 3 V may yield inconsistent torque, and operating consistently above 12 V may shorten lifespan.
Does the motor include a wheel?
Yes. A 43 mm diameter wheel is pre-mounted on the D-type shaft, allowing you to test drive applications immediately without sourcing additional wheels.
How do I connect and mount the encoder output?
The encoder comes with a 140 mm test wire for the A and B channels. Route these leads to your microcontroller’s digital inputs, using pull-up resistors as specified by your controller. Secure the motor body with an N20‐compatible bracket and align the shaft coupling or wheel for smooth operation.
