You can also add various Arduino expansion boards, provided the main RAMPS board remains at the top of the stack. The RAMPS board functions in conjunction with its motherboard, the Mega 2560, and is compatible with stepper drivers like A4988 and DRV8825. Known for its stability and compatibility with a wide range of 3D printers (including all RepRap models like Prusa i2 and i3), the combination of RAMPS 1.4, MEGA 2560, and A4988/DRV8825 has become a popular choice for DIY 3D printer control systems.
