Product Description
If you want to add a small, colorful, and bright display to any project, this display breakout is the perfect choice. It uses 4-wire SPI to communicate and has its own pixel-addressable frame buffer, so it works with any microcontroller, even the ones with low memory and few pins.
The display is 1.8 inches and has 128×160 color pixels. It is a true TFT display, unlike the cheap “Nokia 6110” and similar LCD displays that have poor color and slow refresh. The TFT driver (ST7735R) can show full 18-bit color (262,144 shades!).
You don’t have to worry about compatibility issues, because the 1.8 Inch SPI 128×160 TFT LCD Display Module always uses the same driver chip.
The breakout comes with the TFT display soldered on (it has a delicate flex-circuit connector), as well as an ultra-low-dropout 3.3V regulator and a 3/5V level shifter, so you can use it with 3.3V or 5V power and logic.
It also has a microSD card holder, so you can easily load full-color bitmaps from a FAT16/FAT32 formatted microSD card.
