The DM556 is a versatile, fully digital stepping drive based on a DSP with an advanced control algorithm. It represents the next generation of digital stepping motor controls, offering a unique level of system smoothness, optimal torque, and eliminating mid-range instability. The motor self-test and parameter auto-setup technology ensure optimal responses with different motors and ease of use.
One of the advantages of using the DM556 Stepper Motor Driver is precise control over the speed and position of the stepper motor. These drivers are suitable for a small range of stepper motors, simplifying code and connections. A new feature in this driver allows us to set the current mode using SW4. When set to OFF, the standstill current is half of the selected dynamic current; when set to ON, it matches the selected dynamic current.
The driven motors operate with significantly less noise, lower heating, and smoother movement compared to most drives in the market. The unique features of the DM556 make it an ideal solution for applications requiring low-speed smoothness.
Features:
- Can drive 4-wire, 8-wire two-phase stepper motor
- Signal input: PUL+ and PUL- are the positive and negative ends of the control pulse signals; the DIR+ and DIR- are the positive and negative ends of the directional signal; ENA+ and ENA- are the positive and negative ends of the enabling signals.
- Power-on parameter auto-tuning function
- Precision current control greatly reduces motor heating
- The current is automatically halved at rest
- Built-in micro-segment
