This is about the GPS Module that can help you navigate the distance with a drone. A GPS drone has a GPS module that connects to a network of satellites. This lets the drone do things like hold its position, fly on its own, go back to where it started, and follow a path.
The NEO-M8N High Precision GPS Module with Built-in Compass for APM and PIXHAWK FC is a new type of Neo-M8N GPS module. It has a digital compass called HMC5883L. This module is very sensitive and has a special circuit for the ceramic patch antenna. It also has a plastic case to protect it from the weather. This module can tell you the exact position 10 times per second and has a battery that can be recharged for faster starts. The NEO-M8N works at a speed of 38400 bits per second and can be used with Pixhawk and APM (you might need to change the cable to fit your autopilot board).
The NEO-M8N GPS Module for APM2.52 Flight Controller with Case and GPS Antenna Mount has a stand that protects the GPS from electromagnetic interference. It is a new generation NEO-M8N GPS Module that uses less power and is more accurate. The best accuracy is 0.6 meters, but usually it is about 0.9 meters. This is better than the previous generation NEO-7N that had an accuracy of 1.4-1.6 meters. It supports GPS/QZSS L1 C/A, GLONASS L10F mode or more. The NEO-M8N and ceramic antenna make this receiver very accurate, fast, and reliable. It also has a strong stand that protects the GPS from electromagnetic interference.
The best thing about this module is how sensitive it is. It can receive signals from GPS/QZSS, GLONASS at the same time, which means you should get a good signal no matter where you are in the world. It also uses less power than other modules. This module can also work with older models.
This module also comes with a circular mounting pad.
Note:
- When the GPS modules have power, the blue LED will flash for a second (probably less than a full second). It will then flash constantly once it has a position lock.
- This module comes with a genuine chip that enables you to update the firmware* and change the configuration via U-Center. However, if you do not need this functionality.
- Due to the flash memory of this specific module, you cannot update the V3.01 firmware as the firmware file is too big.
