A servo is a specialized geared motor designed to rotate up to 180 degrees. Its position is controlled by electrical pulses sent from your UNO R3 board. These pulses determine the angle to which the servo should move. Typically, the servo has three wires: the brown wire is the ground (GND), which connects to the GND port on the UNO; the red wire is the power (5V), which connects to the 5V port; and the orange wire is the signal, which should be connected to digital pin #9 on the board.
