Looking for Photosensitive Resistor Sensor Module? Photosensitive Resistor Sensor Module for Arduino is available at Zbotic with fast shipping across India.
Description:
This is a High-quality photosensitive sensor module/light module that detects the photosensitive resistor for Arduino. The photoresistor module detects light intensity.
As the intensity of light on the photoresistor increases, the resistance of the photoresistor decreases. A built-in 10k resistor on the module can be used to build a divider circuit for measuring changes in light intensity from the photoresistor. A device such as an Arduino can be used to read the light intensity using an analog input pin.
Photo Resistor Module Connections to Arduino:
-
Pin 1 (S) of the module connects to an Arduino analog input pin. Arduino analog input A0 is used in the sketches below, but can be changed.
-
Pin 2 of the module connects to the Arduino GND pin.
-
Pin 3 (-) of the module connects to the Arduino 5V pin.

Photosensitive Resistor Sensor Module for Arduino Overview
The Photosensitive Resistor Sensor Module for Arduino is a compact light-sensing board designed to measure ambient light intensity. It uses a photoresistor whose resistance falls below 80 Ω in bright light and exceeds 20 MΩ in darkness, providing a clear analog signal for Arduino projects.
Key Features of Photosensitive Resistor Sensor Module for Arduino
- High-quality photoresistor: <80 Ω under full illumination and >20 MΩ in complete darkness
- Onboard 10 kΩ resistor for ready-to-use voltage divider output
- Standard 3-pin interface (S, +5 V, GND) for direct Arduino analog input
- Compact PCB footprint ideal for breadboards and prototyping
- Accurate real-time light intensity monitoring for dynamic control
- Genuine modules with fast shipping across India from Zbotic
Applications and Use Cases
- Automatic streetlight and garden lighting control based on ambient brightness
- Robot line-following or light-seeking navigation systems
- Display brightness adjustment in DIY monitors or instrument panels
- Smart home projects for sunrise/sunset detection
- Photography light meters or time-lapse exposure triggers
How to Use Photosensitive Resistor Sensor Module for Arduino
Wire the module’s S pin to an Arduino analog input (e.g., A0), connect + to 5 V and – to GND. The onboard 10 kΩ resistor forms a voltage divider with the photoresistor. Read the analog value using analogRead() and map the readings to desired light-level thresholds in your sketch.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I connect this module to my Arduino?
Simply link the module’s S pin to an analog input pin (e.g., A0), + to the Arduino 5 V rail, and – to ground. No extra resistors are needed because of the built-in 10 kΩ divider.
What light intensity range can it detect?
The module senses from near-total darkness (resistance >20 MΩ) up to bright daylight (resistance <80 Ω). Analog readings vary across that range, allowing fine-grained light measurement.
Do I need to calibrate the sensor?
Calibration involves reading minimum and maximum analog values under your specific lighting conditions and mapping those to meaningful lux or relative levels in your Arduino code.
