OE-37 Hall Effect Two Channel Magnetic Encoder

If you want to build a project where the machine can control the speed of the conveyer belt as well as the direction of movement, a rotary encoder is a must-have component. So, here you can buy this Encoder at a reasonable price.

A two-channel Hall effect encoder is used to sense the rotation of a magnetic disk on a rear protrusion of the motor shaft. The quadrature encoder provides a resolution of 7 counts per revolution of the motor shaft when counting both edges of both channels. The encoder has six pins output as shown.

OE-37 Hall Effect Two-Channel Magnetic Encoder’s Hall sensor requires an input voltage, Vcc, between 4.5 and 24 V and draws a maximum of 10 mA. The A and B outputs are square waves from 0 V to Vcc approximately 90° out of phase. The frequency of the transitions tells you the speed of the motor, and the order of the transitions tells you the direction.

By counting both the rising and falling edges of both the A and B outputs, it is possible to get 7 counts per revolution
of the motor shaft by both Channels.

How to Use OE-37 Hall Effect Two Channel Magnetic Encoder

Mount a compatible magnetic disk onto the rear protrusion of your motor shaft, align the OE-37 sensor PCB close to the disk surface, then wire the six-pin header to your controller: connect VCC (4.5–24 V), GND, and read the two open-collector outputs (Channel A and Channel B) into digital inputs. Configure your microcontroller to count quadrature pulses for speed and direction feedback.
