KSD9700 250V 5A 150° C Plastic Thermostatic Temperature Switch NC
The 9700 series heat protector is composed of a highly sensitive bimetallic disc, moving and static contacts, a fixed base, a casing, and a temperature-resistant wire. In operation, the bimetallic disc moves freely, allowing the moving contact to meet the static contact and complete the circuit. Should the appliance’s temperature surpass the heat protector’s operating limit due to a malfunction, the bimetallic disc will warm up and produce internal stress. This stress causes the disc to snap, forcing the moving contact away from the static contact and interrupting the circuit, thereby disconnecting the power to the malfunctioning appliance to prevent further damage.
Once the appliance’s temperature falls to the heat protector’s rated reset level, the bimetallic disc reverts to its initial position, enabling the contacts to reconnect and resume normal appliance function.
