ESP32 has many advantages over Arduino UNO for IoT and non-IoT projects. It can work as an independent system or as a subordinate device to a host MCU, which reduces the communication stack load on the main application processor. ESP32 is a chip developed by Espressif Systems that enables Wi-Fi and (in some models) dual-mode Bluetooth connectivity for embedded devices. Although ESP32 refers to the chip itself, some manufacturers also use the term “ESP32” to describe modules and development boards that contain this chip.

When the ESP32 is configured as a Wi-Fi station, it can connect to other networks (such as your router). In this case, the router assigns a unique IP address to your ESP board. You can communicate with the ESP using other devices (stations) that are also connected to the same network by using the ESP’s unique IP address.
