The **CJMCU-4051 74HC4051 8-Channel Analog Multiplexer/Demultiplexer Sensor Module** is a breakout board designed for use with Arduino, based on the **74HCT4051** chip. This chip functions as a single-pole octal-throw (SP8T) analog switch, enabling both analog and digital 8:1 multiplexing and demultiplexing.
The module features three digital select inputs (S0, S1, and S2), eight independent input/output channels (Yn), a common input/output pin (Z), and a digital enable input (E). When the enable pin (E) is set to HIGH, all switches are turned off. The module also includes input clamp diodes, which allow for the use of current-limiting resistors, making it possible to interface with voltages higher than the VCC.
This versatile module is ideal for expanding the number of analog or digital signals that can be processed by your Arduino, making it suitable for a wide range of sensor or control applications.
