Li-ion batteries are widely used in both indoor and outdoor devices due to their high energy density, compact size, and efficiency. These batteries require constant monitoring during charge and discharge cycles to prevent damage and maintain optimal performance. To address these concerns, battery protection and charging circuits are used. This product, for example, is a Li-ion single-cell charger and protection circuit designed to charge a single 15 Amp cell or 5 to 6 parallel-connected Li-ion cells (2500mAh each). It features MOSFETs to monitor and protect the battery, guarding against overcharging, over-discharging, and short circuits, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
