The DD30CRTA is a compact, PWM switch-mode battery charger controller designed for 12V lead-acid batteries. With minimal external components required, this controller offers a highly efficient and reliable solution for battery charging. It supports multiple charging modes, including trickle charge, constant current charge, over-charge protection, and float charge, making it versatile for various charging scenarios.
In over-charge and float charge modes, the regulation voltage is pre-set for convenience. The constant charge current is easily adjustable through a single sense resistor, allowing for fine-tuning of the charging process.
For deeply discharged batteries, the DD30CRTA automatically initiates a trickle charge at 17.5% of the programmed constant charge current until the battery voltage rises above 75% of the regulation voltage. Once the battery reaches this threshold, the controller switches to over-charge mode. Charging is terminated when the current drops to 38% of the constant charge current, and the system transitions to float charge mode.
If the battery voltage falls below 83.95% of the over-charge voltage during float charge mode, the DD30CRTA automatically restarts the charging cycle. Additionally, the DD30CRTA enters sleep mode when the input voltage drops below the battery voltage, conserving energy and enhancing overall efficiency.
With its robust feature set and efficient power management, the DD30CRTA is ideal for applications requiring reliable lead-acid battery charging and protection.
