The PM2.5 GP2Y1010AU0F Dust, Smoke, and Particle Sensor uses an infrared emitting diode (IRED) and a phototransistor arranged diagonally within the device to detect reflected light from airborne dust particles. It is particularly effective at detecting fine particles, such as cigarette smoke. Additionally, the sensor can differentiate between smoke and household dust by analyzing the pulse pattern of the output voltage.
This module is commonly used in applications such as dust removal systems, air purifiers, smoke detection alarms, dust-sensing robots, fire alarms, and other industrial equipment. It is capable of detecting a variety of airborne particles, including smoke, pollen, spores, and other fine particulates.
