Product Description:
A piezoelectric transducer is a device that converts mechanical force into electrical output. It consists of a quartz crystal, which contains SiO2. Piezoelectric crystals have no net electric charge. The atoms inside the crystals are arranged in an unsymmetrical way, but their electric charges cancel out.
When the crystal is stretched or bent by an external force, an electric voltage is produced. The crystal remains electrically neutral when there is no stress. When there is stress, positive charges appear on one side and negative charges on the opposite side. The crystal also undergoes compression as a result of the applied force.
