Product Description
- The MAX30100 is an integrated pulse oximeter and heart rate monitor sensor solution. This optical sensor uses two LEDs—one red and one infrared—to emit light at different wavelengths and measures the absorbance of pulsing blood through a photodetector.
- This specific LED combination is optimized for accurate readings from the tip of a finger. It is fully configurable via software registers, and digital output data is stored in a 16-deep FIFO within the device. Communication with a host microcontroller is facilitated through an I2C digital interface.
- The pulse oximetry subsystem includes ambient light cancellation (ALC), a 16-bit sigma-delta ADC, and a proprietary discrete-time filter.
- Designed for ultra-low power consumption, the MAX30100 is ideal for battery-operated systems, operating on a supply voltage range of 1.8 to 3.3V. It is suitable for use in wearable devices, fitness trackers, and medical monitoring equipment.
- Additionally, the MAX30100 can be powered down via software, maintaining negligible standby current while keeping the power supply connected at all times.
