The UDN2981A, UDN2982A, and A2982SLW have the same electrical characteristics and can withstand a maximum output voltage of 50 V when off. They can operate with a minimum supply of 5 V. They have input current limiting resistors and output transient suppression diodes. They are activated by active high input signals.
The suffix ‘A’ indicates an 18-lead plastic DIP package with a copper lead frame for better heat dissipation. These devices can handle 120 mA continuously for each output at an ambient temperature of +50°C and a supply of 15 V. The suffix ‘LW’ indicates an 18-lead wide-body SOIC package for surface mounting. The A2982SLW has a 20-lead wide-body SOIC package with enhanced thermal performance. The UDN2982A, UDN2982LW, and A2982SLW are also available for extended temperature range operation down to -40°C. To order, replace the prefix ‘UDN’ with ‘UDQ’ or the suffix ‘SLW’ with ‘ELW’. These packages have Pb-free variants (suffix ‘-T’) with 100% matte-tin plating on the lead frame.
