The CJMCU-TRRS 3.5mm Audio MP3 Stereo Headphones Video Microphone Interface Module has audio-style connectors that are compatible with phones. You can use it with MP3 players and development boards.
TRRS is an acronym for “Tip, Ring, Ring, Sleeve.” It differs from a standard stereo connector because it has three conductors and a ground instead of two conductors and a ground. Some devices use the extra conductor for a microphone (like hands-free headsets) or a video signal (like some MP3/MP4 players).
This breakout board makes it easy to add a TRRS jack to your prototype or project. It breaks out each conductor to a header with a standard 0.1 spacing.
