74LS47 BCD to 7-Segment Decoder/Driver IC (7447 IC) DIP-16 Package
The 74LS47 is a BCD (Binary Coded Decimal) to 7-segment display driver that accepts four lines of BCD input data (8421 code). It internally generates the complementary values and decodes the data using seven AND/OR gates with open-collector outputs, which directly drive the segments of a 7-segment display.
Each segment output is capable of sinking up to 24 mA when in the ON (LOW) state and can withstand up to 15V in the OFF (HIGH) state, with a maximum leakage current of 250 µA. The IC also includes auxiliary inputs for functions such as blanking lamp test, and cascadable zero-suppression, making it versatile for a wide range of display applications.
