The TM1638 Button Digital LED Display Module is based on the TM1638 chip, integrating three common MCU peripheral circuits. Its key feature is that it only requires three microcontroller I/O ports for operation, eliminating the need for scanning displays and buttons, which typically requires additional microcontroller intervention. Instead, you simply read the relevant registers to send display data or test buttons, conserving valuable MCU resources.
In typical setups, external microcontrollers would need to allocate more I/O ports for 8 LEDs, 8 digital displays, and 8 buttons. However, this module simplifies the process, achieving all of that with just three I/O ports. It delivers excellent results for sensitive key detection and display functionality. For wiring, connect VCC and GND to a 5V power supply, and link STB, CLK, and DIO to the microcontroller’s I/O ports. The module includes 8 buttons, 8 LEDs, and 8 common cathode digital displays, making it compatible with microcontrollers like the STC series for direct connection.
