HT12E Encoder IC
The HT12E is an encoder integrated circuit from the 212 series. It is crafted to function alongside a corresponding decoder to establish a remote control system, commonly utilized in RF and infrared circuits. Both the encoder and decoder are required to have identical address and data formats.
The HT12E encodes 12 bits of parallel data into a serial format for transmission through an RF transmitter. These 12 bits consist of 8 address bits and 4 data bits. The HT12E is equipped with a transmission enable pin that is triggered by a low signal. When a trigger signal is received, the encoder sends the predetermined addresses and data along with header bits via RF or infrared transmission. This 4-word transmission cycle persists as long as the enable pin is kept low. When the pin is set high, the encoder finishes its ongoing cycle and stops transmitting.
