The AD8232 ECG Sensor Module Kit for Arduino is a compact board designed to measure the electrical activity of the heart and output it as an analog signal. This signal can be visualized as an ECG (Electrocardiogram), which displays the heart’s rhythm and beats.
The AD8232 is a single-lead heart rate monitor that incorporates an operational amplifier to reduce noise from the ECG signal, particularly in the PR and QT intervals. It is ideal for use in ECG and other bio-potential measurement applications.
The AD8232 ECG module is capable of extracting, amplifying, and filtering small bio-potential signals, even in challenging environments, such as when the electrodes are placed far from the heart or when the user is in motion.
This module features nine pins that can be connected to various devices, including an Arduino or other development boards. The required pins for operation are SDN, LO+, LO-, OUTPUT, 3.3V, and GND.
Additionally, the module has RA (Right Arm), LA (Left Arm), and RL (Right Leg) pins for attaching custom sensors, as well as an LED indicator that flashes with each heartbeat. To use the heart rate monitor, you will need biomedical sensor pads and a sensor cable, which can be found in the recommended products section.
