YL-99 Impact Switch Module
The module mounts a small microswitch with a lever. The output is normally held HIGH via a 10K pull-up resistor on the module. When the switch lever is depressed, the output is pulled to ground and goes LOW and the LED on the module lights.
The switch body is rated for up to 2A @ 125VAC, but the module is designed to switch logic level signals.
Module Connections
1×3 Header
OUT = Output is normally HIGH. The output goes LOW when switch is depressed
VCC = Power. Typically kept at 3.3 or 5V to match the uC it is used with
GND = Ground which should be common with the uC.
The module has one M3 hole for mounting.
OUR EVALUATION RESULTS:
Build quality is good on these modules.
The single mounting hole may allow the module to rotate when impacted, so mounting should take this into consideration and ensure a rotation stop is provided if necessary.

YL-99 Impact Switch Module Overview
The YL-99 Impact Switch Module is a compact board featuring a lever-actuated microswitch with built-in pull-up resistor and LED indicator. It provides a digital output that stays HIGH until an impact depresses the switch, pulling the line LOW and lighting the onboard LED.
Key Features of YL-99 Impact Switch Module
- Lever-actuated microswitch with a 10 KΩ pull-up resistor for stable HIGH output
- Digital output transitions from HIGH to LOW on impact, with LED indicator
- Designed for logic-level signals, compatible with 3.3 V & 5 V microcontroller inputs
- 1×3 header pins (OUT, VCC, GND) for easy plug-and-play wiring
- M3 mounting hole for secure attachment to frames or enclosures
- Genuine YL-99 module, fast shipping across India from Zbotic
Applications and Use Cases
- Collision or bump detection on robotics platforms
- Impact sensing for remote-controlled cars and drones
- Shock trigger for alarm or logging systems
- Mechanical limit or endstop detection in 3D printers and CNC machines
- Interactive exhibits that respond to sudden taps or knocks
How to Use YL-99 Impact Switch Module
Connect VCC to your microcontroller’s 3.3 V or 5 V rail, GND to common ground, and OUT to a digital input pin. Mount the module via its M3 hole near the area where impact detection is required. Monitor the input pin in your firmware: it reads HIGH normally and switches to LOW when the lever is depressed, lighting the onboard LED to confirm activation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What voltage should I use with the YL-99 module?
The YL-99 Impact Switch Module is designed to work at logic levels of 3.3 V or 5 V. Simply match VCC to your microcontroller’s operating voltage.
How do I detect an impact in my code?
Monitor the OUT pin in digital input mode. The pin remains HIGH thanks to the onboard pull-up resistor and goes LOW when the switch lever is pressed, triggering an LED on the module.
Can this module switch high-current loads?
The microswitch itself is rated up to 2 A @ 125 VAC, but on the YL-99 module it’s intended for logic-level signaling only. For driving higher currents, use the module’s output to control a suitable driver or relay.
