How to Use DS3231 I2C Real Time Clock for Raspberry Pi
To set up the DS3231 RTC, connect 3.3 V to VCC, GND to ground, SDA to GPIO 2 and SCL to GPIO 3 on the Raspberry Pi header. Enable I2C in raspi-config, install i2c-tools and rtc modules, add “dtoverlay=i2c-rtc,ds3231” to /boot/config.txt, reboot, then use hwclock commands to read and write the clock.
