LM358 Low Power Dual Op-Amp IC DIP-8
These amplifiers offer several key advantages over standard operational amplifier types, particularly in single-supply applications. They are capable of operating with supply voltages as low as 3.0V and as high as 32V, while drawing only a quiescent current that is approximately one-fifth of that used by the MC1741 (per amplifier). The LM358 series is essentially half of an LM324.
The common-mode input voltage range extends to the negative supply, which eliminates the need for external biasing components in many applications. Additionally, the output voltage range includes the negative power supply voltage, enabling more flexible operation.
Designed based on the architecture of Quad Operational Amplifiers, these dual op-amps feature low power consumption, a common-mode input voltage range that extends to ground/VEE, and support for both single-supply and split-supply configurations.
