Product Description
HT12E is an encoder integrated circuit that belongs to the 212 series of encoders. It can be paired with a decoder from the same series to create a remote control system. It is commonly used to interface RF and infrared circuits. The encoder and decoder should have the same number of addresses and data format.
HT12E converts parallel inputs into serial output. It takes 12 bits of parallel data and encodes them into serial data for transmission through an RF transmitter. The 12 bits consist of 8 address bits and 4 data bits. HT12E has a transmission enable pin that is active when it is low. When this pin receives a trigger signal, the encoder sends the programmed addresses and data along with the header bits through an RF or an infrared medium. HT12E repeats this 4-word transmission cycle as long as the pin is low. When the pin becomes high, the encoder finishes its last cycle and then stops.
